Transporting your betta fish home from the store will no doubt be stressful on the fish. Follow these tips to make the
trip as stress free and as easy as possible on your new betta fish.
- Make sure that one quarter of the betta’s container is filled
with water, so the other three quarters will be air.
- Take a small cooler with you on your trip to the pet store along with some newspaper
to wedge around the betas container to be a shock absorber. Set the cooler on the floor or secure it on the seat.
- If it’s less than
70 degrees outside ask the fish store to provide you with a small fish bag filled with hot water. This will serve as a heating
pad to keep the fish from getting cold. Make sure the heating pad does not actually touch the bettas’ container.
Head straight
home. The faster you transport your betta fish home, the less stress and trauma he will need to endure
